oilshale
This fossil is from the Manuel River Formation (Middle Cambrian), Conception Bay, Newfoundland, Canada. I don't know what it actually is: Is it a Hyolitha or a Conularia? Hyolitha were found there, but the Hyolitha I know are all significantly smaller. This specimen is about 10cm long (about 4 inches). In the literature I have not found anything about Conularia from there. Edited June 10, 2022 by oilshale Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC). abyssunder
I could be wrong, but the specimen looks like a hyolith, to me. rocket
looks like the cross-section is round, so, I would assume to see a hyolith. Not easy to identify...
