New Members jayjaybird Posted June 15, 2022 New Members Share Posted June 15, 2022 Found in the basement of an abandoned home in South Bend, Indiana, surrounded by farm land. What could this be? Fossildude19
Cropped, enlarged, brightened, and sharpened. Looks to me like someone's dog or a coyote. Not likely to be a fossil. With this poor quality photo, and no measurements, guesses will probably be all you will get. You shouldn have... creepiness aside, I think that is one skeleton, I do not see bones that are not accounted for. That scapula looks not like a pigs, canid seems best fit, opossum maybe? Teeth remind me of Enchodus though... Chupacabra is also a possibility. Best Regards, J Thanks - yes, oppossum has been my main contender, but the webbed/fin-like hand throws me off.
jdp
Yeah I was thinking opossum.
Mahnmut
I do not see in the foto what you mean by webbed or fin-like. The bright thing in front of the snout is the scapula or shoulder blade, torn out of the body and fitting an opossum. The hand would be below that, left of the green spot and not showing much detail in the picture. 2 Try to learn something about everything and everything about something Thomas Henry Huxley
