IsaacTheFossilMan
Welcome to the forum! Where was it collected? Note that much of the process of identification comes from relative information, such as the age of the rocks, or other known fossils in a locality! Also make sure to post clear, bright photos, with an international scale device, such as a millimetre rule. (not a coin, dollar bill, or anything else!) It doesn't appear to be a fish to me, but looks rather more like wood. Would (no pun intended) you be able to take a picture of the texture inside the seam? ~ Isaac; www.isaactfm.com "Don't move! Rockwood
Actually, it may appear a little too much like a fish. Fossil fish usually look less lifelike. I agree that this is likely fossilized wood.

New Members BradT Posted June 27, 2022 Author New Members Share Posted June 27, 2022 Ya it was the small lines which made me think it might be but I have no experience so. I thought the ripples on the rock were interesting as well. Thanks again for your time
