Nimravis
@RCFossils @fiddlehead @stats @Mark Kmiecik I am opening concretions right now and this one split with a nice little tap. It looks like flora, but I don’t recall this piece. If it was from a later time period I would say it was a pretty feather lol. Any help would be appreciated.

connorp
I’m thinking Rhacophyllum, maybe R. molle. Very nice piece.
Nimravis
Thanks Connor, I really liked it too. So far the rest is garbage, don’t know if I will make a post today.

I see what appear to be pinnules, and not just the ones at the edge of the base but also in parts of the distal portions of the "plume". This makes me wonder if this is something extremely rare. I've never seen anything like this. 1 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Yes Ralph. However, what you consider "garbage" causes others who wish they could collect MC to drool. Nice find. I'm eagerly awaiting Jack's input on this one. I hope he takes a look. 2 Mark. Those elliptical structures look to be a mm or less in size and there are many rows of them...Hoping Jack or RC get a chance to look and respond. good eyes... fiddlehead
Very interesting! In my opinion this is a fertile example of Rhacophyllum molle. This has not been previously published on, or observed, as far as I'm aware. It makes sense that there should be fertile examples of this plant. The leaf-like structures are fertile structures, and may be either seeds or sporangia. This would take a little luck and and closer examination to determine. At this point since there is an odd pattern seen on several may be a clue, and leaning me to think they are sporangia. Hope this helps, Jack 4

jdp
Mentioned in the other thread I thought this might be a piece of shark, but there are really nice pinules in the closeups so I've gotta agree this is plant.
