Found a black object on the beach in Atlantic Beach Florida. Curious if it's part of a dugong rib or whale bone. It measures 3" in length by 1.25" in width has a slight curve as well. It's Solid/Dense for it's size. Any help would be much appreciated.

The texture is bone and as it is a fragment it is likely not possible to say much more than fossilized bone. It's the Florida equivalent to a Chunk-o-saurus that might be found out west where they have dinosaur fossils (but no megs). ;)

Cheers.

Where there is fossilized bone there is likely to be more--keep searching. ;)

Cheers.
