I was looking around marsh quarry, Colorado and I found this. It looks like a bone fragment. It has a really black color seems like it consists of ash and it also shows  traces of hollow bone.

This looks more like carbonized plant material, to me. :unsure:

I'm inclined to believe it's actually fossil bone, and likely dinosaur given the size and location. It would appear that the inner cancellous tissue has eroded away leaving the more resistant cortical bone attached to the matrix. More pictures would be helpful.

It's difficult to tell from the structure, but the preservation has a decidedly plant like look to me.

Leaning more toward plant material especially with that last photo.
