Blastoid
Is there any standard, widely approved technique for efficiently prepping Green River fish? Use of the basic tungsten-tipped scribe or pin vise seems pretty standard, and works grand for very lightly coated fish. If you're removing, however, 3 or more millimeters of rock to expose the bones, what works best, air abrasive, or the mini-jackhammer aero tools? The latter seems emminently affordable and I'll order one tomorrow if folks say it's the appropriate tool for the job. (I'm currently working on an 18" notogoneus, using a Foredom tool (hi speed rotary diamond) for "bulk" removal and a finely sharpened scribe for finishing, all under a low power scope.) Any tips or tricks from the experts out there would be most appreciated and might save me from carpal tunnel syndrome! Blastoid
