Meganeura
Hey guys! Found this medial Phalanx yesterday - and can’t figure out if it’s cow and thus modern, or bison and thus a fossil. It’s heavier than modern bones I’ve found but I wouldn’t say it’s rock solid/fully mineralized yet. Measures 47mm long by 25mm wide. @Harry Pristis I was looking at your comparison for them and can’t tell any discernible differences, any idea which this may be? Fossils? I dig it. Harry Pristis
The tendon imprint in the dorsal surface is deeper in Bison than in Bos. (This difference is more noticeable when considering the front phalanges rather than the rear). 3 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
