Auspex
What is wrong there? The multi plate is absolutely fake, which doesn't bode well for the rest. Phoenixflood
What is wrong there? http://megateeth.com/blog2010/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/v23.jpg It's the Dicranurus monstrosus (the trilobite in the middle) that gives it away. Most fakes will not clear out the matrix between the horns. It may be a composite plate however. But if you are looking for a Dicranurus monstrosus, look for one like this: From: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.fossilmuseum.net/Fossil_Galleries/TrilobitesMorocco/DicanurusMonstrosus/02024d.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.fossilmuseum.net/Fossil_Galleries/TrilobitesMorocco/DicanurusMonstrosus/Dicanurus.htm&usg=__jzv_pW8d1NBGLqBdk8AFq8CjYfE=&h=450&w=600&sz=55&hl=en&start=10&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=GSzztYi8yjmpHM:&tbnh=101&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3DDicranurus%2Bmonstrosus%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-US%26tbs%3Disch:1 not like: from: http://www009.upp.so-net.ne.jp/dream-stone/sekai/se16.jpg The soul of a Fossil Hunter is one that is seeking, always. BlueFossilGal
Yes, the Festival was fun & interesting. What I really liked was that your table also had lots of various bones for sale for only $5 each. I picked up a number of vertebreas. I was there Sat. morning & enjoyed talking to the guy working the table. He said the bones came from a river in Georgia & he has tons of this stuff. We will be doing business in the future. It was a lot of fun & I can't wait til next year either. BlueFossilGal- Debbi

megateeth
Hi Debbi, That was me and I remember talking to you because those were my only vertebrae. I had boxes of that stuff the first year I did the show and was shocked that it was so popular. I get people come back every year to see my $5 table. The verts are popular but I do not ever have many. When I find them I make sure they have not started to hollow out before bringing them up. I have brought partially hollowed verts up before only to have a dried up crab fall out a few days later. They make their home in the hollow bones and I always feel bad when I find out that I killed one just to bring up a bone. Yes, the Festival was fun & interesting. I was just trying to find out if there is one. There are a lot of TX posters here. Maybe someone will let me know what and when something will be in Dallas.
