Pool Man
I recently found this little vert in my local hunting spot. I find a large amout of small fish verts, but this is the first that has an oval shape on one side and a more round shape on the other. This came from the southwest florida Plio-Pleistocene shelly sediments. Look familiar to anyone? thanks Dan
ebrocklds
dan i would guess that this little vert is not a different species rather a different position in the animal. i would guess that it is one of the very first cervicals, where it would widen out to attach to the base of the skull. at the very least it is something to look into. Necrocanis
eb you hit the nail on the head! It's the first or second vertebrate. In some fish they are fused.
