New Members kipper327 Posted February 19, 2023 New Members Share Posted February 19, 2023 A friend found this fossil and gave it to me as a gift. Found in a deposit west of the Missouri in SD. I've narrowed it down to some sort of Ordovician nautiloid, but haven't been able to find any closer matches. Thanks in advance!
Darktooth
Looks like an inprint of a Nautiloid. I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

Thanks in advance! These can be difficult to get to lower taxonomic units without a siphuncle in my experience. To complicate matters it probably isn't in-situ and is a glacial erratic. Rockwood
It could also be a tentaculite. The preservation makes it hard to be certain though.
