Shellseeker
Finding my favorites, Gomph, a Meg, Tridactyl horse, and a Periotic.. A enjoyable day in the sunshine with friends... The Meg came early but also found some nice Lemons, Tigers, and Sand Tigers. For identification, a couple of small Horse teeth... 1st has been slightly broken, but likely very identifiable. When we talk about the smallest of Florida Horse teeth, this lower must be a candidate. As we were picking thru the final sieves, this Cetacean periotic added excitement. It is the smallest one I have seen.. @Boesse Apologize for the brevity... Wanted to add this thread before cleanup and sleep... Meganeura
The small one is a N. morgani p3/4, I believe. Worn off protostylid but looks like some evidence of one. Fossils? I dig it.

I have seen the other tooth before and there are older threads discussing Cormohipparion... I think that this is an upper left premolar of Cormohipparion ingenuum. The image below is from @Plantguy Chris , do you have measurements on this tooth? I will be amazed if we can ID this without the bottom of the tooth that includes the protocone. @Harry Pristis @fossillarry The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

Yes, but I am looking for your analysis also... We have plenty of info from Larry in your thread a month ago.. http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/129226-3-toed-horse-tooth-id-peace-river-florida/ Mine is 18 mm wide, Is it a premolar (Larry indicated premolars larger than molars). Do you have one that matches the number of plications? Looks like mine has a low number versus Chris's tooth. Do you agree it is C. ingenuum upper left premolar ? Basically, show me your tooth that matches my find best... Thanks Daniel The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

Size matches - plication count is the same - though, the left pattern has one more plication on the right side of it, and one less on the left side for mine, but the right pattern matches completely. This was IDd as C. ingenuum. Fossils? I dig it.

C. ingenuum upper left P3/4.. we can leave that trail of bird crumbs for those who follow our learning curve. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
