Dino Dad 81
Hi all, Do you think this thing from the Lance formation in Weston co, Wyoming could be a proximal section of young Triceratops brow horn? Thanks!! Edited April 19, 2023 by Dino Dad
Rockwood
Just a prediction really, but eroded end of a long bone seems more likely to me. @Troodon ?
Dino Dad 81
This posting was one of the things that made me suspect horn:
Troodon
No idea, its its pretty bad shape, anyway it's impossible to say its from a Triceratops versus Ceratopsian 1
Dino Dad 81
Thanks, @Troodon I'd planned to send it to someone with prepping experience if it looked like something interesting. But, given your feedback, I decided to try to work it some more myself. In particular, I tried to expose more of the veins I was seeing. Please let me know if these help in suggesting some sort of horn. Thanks! Edited April 21, 2023 by Dino Dad
Troodon
The texture sure looks Ceratopsian. The deep grooves and holes are different guess you can call it a postorbital horn.
