A good guess - it's a solitary rugose coral (aka "horn coral" though that can apply to other sorts so it's not that useful a term) from the lower Carboniferous period. They belong to the same class (Anthozoa) as sea anemones, the most obvious difference being that corals have a hard skeleton.
