Toothie
I had the privilege of digging for seven hours on a parcel that was once part of Ernst Quarry, but had long been sold. Here are the best items that were found. There was more of either the same or broken, not shown. The matrix was extremely hard and difficult to extract, but the hard work was worth it. One of the Hooked Mako's has tiny 2d manganese dendrites that grew on it. One of my other favorites is a pathological Cow Shark. The 3 sections of the Ray Plate are rare for Sharktooth Hill. There are some interesting micro teeth as well. Edited June 22, 2023 by Toothie Grammar

siteseer
Yeah, it's tough enough to find a piece of ray plate with two connected teeth. The one with three is a very nice find. That pathological Hexanchus is a great find too. You might not find another one in your next 300 trips. I always liked finding bones too. I remember seeing a well-mineralized vertebra (dark brown color from the west quarry. It was a cervical vert but it was larger than any other vertebra I had ever seen from the bonebed. I think it was from that super-rare giant sperm whale with the big teeth. I'm not sure it has a name yet because you mostly find just teeth. Bob collected for decades but he found only 4 or 5 teeth with only two being in nice condition.

Deep reds, browns, oranges.
