New Emoticons!

PaleoBri

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just joined the site recently. I’m an artist and I’m gonna be working on some new emoticons for TFF! If anyone has suggestions for what they’d like to see, please let me know in the comments here and I will take them into consideration.

Here are some examples of a few I have already made for fun:

Thanks for your input! :D

Might be hard to make with limited pixel space, but I notice a distinct lack of marine reptiles in our emotes :zzzzscratchchin:.

I like the art you've made so far! Especially the nautilus

Oh wow! Those are really nice!

I agree with Tyler, though. We could use some marine reptile on here ;) Things like mosasaur, pliosaur, ichthyosaur and plesiosaur/elasmosaur :Jumping:

Here’s a few new babies to add to the list! So far I have added an ichthyosaur, ecphora, and an echinoid. :D

I think TFF could certainly use a Tiktaalik or some other iconic Sarcopterygian emoticon

Oh my, I love this idea. Seconded!

Thanks for the wonderful art @PaleoBri!

Somehow the forum doesn't have a Triceratops emoticon. Triceratops is synonymous with paleontology to many!

These are great suggestions, thank you! :D

@Tidgy's Dad I will see what I can do, that particular brachiopod may be a bit too nondescript for most people to know what it is in such a small form. But I definitely should make some kind of brachiopod!

Thank you.

There is already a spiriferid which I use often.

And I think a lingulid, strophomenid, or a terebratulid would get a lot more use than a Tiktaalik, lovely as it is, as it doesn't crop up often on the forum.

I think both are good ideas, I’m gonna make lots of these so how much one is used over another isn’t an issue. :)

I think I can work with a strophomenid or a terebratulid!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I normally do not care much for pixel-art because its natures fine detail that fascinates me.

But I really like your icons!

Making the best of a very limited medium has something of a graphic haiku, now that I think about it.

Some time ago, a TFF member called out to pixel artists:

Thank you :) I love the description of it being a graphic haiku, it feels like that sometimes! Haha
