New Members NEFossils Posted September 15, 2023 New Members Share Posted September 15, 2023 I am thinking this is a weird shaped rock, however the top part is throwing me off with the pattern. Hopefully I am wrong?
Danielb
I have a few questions do you know where it came from and can you take clearer photos? From what I see it fours look like a partial elephant tooth but not knowing where it’s from it would be hard to tell the species.
New Members NEFossils Posted September 15, 2023 Author New Members Share Posted September 15, 2023 Daniel, Found in a gravel pit discard pile where Pleistocene and Pliocene material is being pulled up, Northeast Nebraska. Had a geology tour day previously and a guy had found a mammoth ejected molar- uploaded the picture of his tooth!

There were a few spots on it that had me thinking it was more geological than biological. I was just hoping someone would’ve told me different! Thanks CDiggs! I definitely would have picked it up for a closer look and I sometimes do love keeping those more convincing pseudo-fossils for giggles. Keep at it, I'm sure you'll find one eventually! happy to help and good luck hunting! 1
