Found this yesterday in northwest Missouri/Kansas border while looking for arrowheads on the river.  was wondering if anyone can help me Id this tooth. I find a lot of bison teeth, coral, cronoids, fossils of sea shells ect.  and native artifacts on this spot but never one of these teeth any help or input is appreciated

thanks

A picture of the front of the tooth would help to ID (your second photo is the back of the tooth).

Ok Thanks I thought that was the front cause of the curve but I’m uploading one of the opposite side as we speak

Kinda looks like Cardabiodon venator, but some geological info (what formation/age it's from) or associated finds would be very helpful.

Thanks for the info and taking the time to respond. As far as geological info or formation goes to be honest I’m not sure what that means. I found it on a river rock bar on the Mo/ks line.  Ive always been into native artifacts pretty heavy I just happen to find fossils in the process of looking for artifacts but honestly don’t know much about them. I have found one other tooth but more k-9 type on the same rock bar and  to me what looks like coral and a what I thought was a fossilized toadstool, like you would see growing on a dead log  I can upload a pic of those if that would help

The labial (flat) side of a shark tooth is the front.
The lingual (convex) side is the back.

This picture is the labial or front side of the tooth. Usually not the side that is displayed, but it is the side you see at the front of the jaw.

What were the nearest towns and major landmarks? If we know that, then we can probably do a Google search and at least have an idea of which geological formations the fossil might come from.
