mr.cheese
I have recently bought a mixed bag of random verts that I am wanting to use to make little kids boxes for my shop. I know there is many different types etc in here but I wondered if there is some general info that could be gleened, rough age, fish sizes are the longer ones from a specific part of the spine etc? They are just a little pocket money buy for the kids but the last thing I want to be doing is telling them wrong information! Thank you for your time
Fossildude19
As far as I know, vertebrae are not diagnostic. There are fish and shark verts mixed together there. Without location information, age and species are nearly impossible to discern. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Which is which? As for location, well......knowing the man I bought them off they will either be from Saint-Marie, Munich or Tucson fossil fairs! Does that narrow it down at all?! Fossildude19
I think these are correct, but perhaps someone will confirm or deny. @MarcoSr @Al Dente 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
