mpach033
Hey guys, any idea what shark this belongs to? It was found on a South Carolina beach.
Fin Lover
Can you take another picture? The tooth is fairly blurry when I zoom in on it. Fin Lover

Fin Lover
Based on this picture, I would guess Carcharhinus of some sort, but I'd like to see a better picture of the area below. Fin Lover

Fin Lover
Thank you. I'm sticking with worn Carcharhinus. Fin Lover

hemipristis
Concur with @Fin Lover: Carcharhinus. The weathering makes anything more just guesswork, but ya know what? I'll bite (pun intended): with the prominent root bulge, triangular shape, and mini-burette, it could be an oceanic white tip (C. longimanus). Alternately, a Caribbean reef shark (C. perezii) upper anterior. Need serrations and less wear 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.'
