I found this sticking out of the ground. I walk through a semi wetland woods. Often, I find many things like this. What is it?

Hi,

 

The first photo reminds me of sandstone.

 

But it would be nice to give some details about the location and size, as requested previously.

This looks like an example of differential weathering to me.

The harder minerals are being exposed by weathering removing the softer matrix.

The layering and angles seen here are features that are seen in cross bedded sandstone. It commonly forms in rivers, or, on land, in sand dunes.

I FOUND IT NEAR A REAL SWAMPY AREA IN ABINGTON MASSACHUSETTS.  ITS ABOUT 2 FEET LONG 10 TO 12 INCHES WIDE AND AROUND 2 TO 3.5 INCHES THICK
