Hi, I found this fossil at Topsail Island over the weekend. Is this possibly a sloth bone?

Moved to FOSSIL ID;)

 

This looks like a ball joint to a mammal femur.

Not sure you can say anything further about it. Not diagnostic enough to tell what it is from, I think.

This also appears to be an epiphysis from a young animal where the growth plate has not fully fused.  But I agree it lacks enough detail for me to make a confident suggestion for an ID.
