Here's some highlights of my summer fossil hunts, cause i obviously can't keep up with the reports. Too much hunting to do 😉 so let's get it over with. Hope i can do some more extensive reports from recent trips i did afterward..

 

Here we go..

 

July 24 - River shore hunt in Antwerp

Starting with a cow jaw..

A very worn (as usual) Otodus auriculatus..

July 25-27 - Cap Blanc-Nez, France

I went on a 3 day camping trip to Cap-Blanc-Nez in France together with a good friend. About 3 hours of driving from Antwerp. We did some holding, visited the World War monuments and i had the chance of doing some moderate fossil hunting on the branches next to the famous white Cretaceous cliffs..

Chain coral?

We had a great time anyway, this is defenitely going to become a yearly thing.

More highlights..

 

This summer i went back to the grassy overgrown spot with mixed Neogene quite a few times. The place isn't actually loaded with shark teeth, but the overall quality is really pleasing..

 

July 7

I met up with David at 8am, David left at 3pm with a broken sifter and some good quality smaller teeth. My sifter kept up till 6pm, but then it also went down. This was the result tho..

July 13

Had a few hours left in the evening, so i had to try out my fixed sifter..

With good results, some finds in the evening sun..

August 3

Again some hours of sifting in the evening sun.. great finds!

August 17

I met up with David for about 4 hours of sifting.. again some good quality shark teeth amongst a lot of bits and pieces..

Cetorhinus maximus gill raker and some dolphin teeth, the usual ray fossils..

August 22

Had a few hours left after work so i decided to do some sifting.. again 😀 started out great with this little fellow in my first sifter.. Notorynchus cepedianus symphyseal tooth, great find even missing most of the root..

I've found some nice Notorynchus and Hexanchus teeth all together that day..

August 25

September 7

The last time i hit up this spot i defenitely had to work for it, gladly rewarded with some cool unexpected finds..

Not unexpected but great Isurus sp. anyway..
