New Members Burdus Gabriel Posted February 11 New Members Share Posted February 11 (edited) Hello! I found this rock on a former river bed in a forest in Romania. If it helps, the rock type in this area is from pleistocene. I tried finding a simillar one with the same pattern and color but couldn’t find one. Thank you in advance! . Fossildude19
Hole patterns look too random to be a fossil. They look like gas bubbles in a volcanic rock. Looks like some sort of tuffa or pumice? 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Brevicollis
I would say it could be a limestone with traces of wormtubes, or a limestone we're acidic water formed the holes. I find many of them on the Baltic sea, but still dont know what they actualy are. So, good that someone adresses this topic. 1 My account and something about me : My still growing collection : My paleoart : Im just a guy who really loves fossils

The closest vulcano that is inactive is 150km(90miles) away. The area has gas resources though if this information help. thank you for your help!
