Fullux
Howdy all, Does anyone know what this appalachiosaurus skull reconstruction is based on? I've seen it and another that looks more like a Dryptosaurus and I'm not sure which is the correct one based on the holotype.
rocket
no, sorry, I do not know. Best is to ask where the cast is exhibited, perhaps they know
North
I only remember that skeleton had huge arms that got replaced with more accurate shorter arms. But skull was kept the same. All I know that it was first thought to be Albertosaurus or albertosaurine. And then refered by ridges top of the snout to be similar to Daspletosaurus and Aliorimus, but I have no idea what was used to fill up the skull. Or did anything change when it was placed in its current classification. 1 There's no such thing as too many teeth.
