I don't know how to use this site so I hope I'm doing this right.   I found this flattened and petrified piece on the Missouri River in South Dakota.   I'm so curious to know what it might be.

Could be a piece of dinosaur bone.  But there is not much left to try to ID it.  My best guess is a piece of a rib.

Am i seeing the same picture as everyone else.  It looks rather claw like to me.

No blood groove, and it seems that the outer edge is raised consideraby in both views, like the edge of a rib.  

On the other hand, can we see photos of the two skinny edges as well as a view of what is the left end in your pix?
