Is there enamel?  If not, my vote is a flint core

It does look like a tooth but also a flint core. I've seen very similar flint cores in the UK. People always assume that they are prehistoric but that isn't necessarily the case as small flint cores were carried and in use into the early Victorian times. My own Great Grandfather always carried a similar one for fire lighting purposes.
