Real and bad preserved, or carved and paint Keichousaurus ?

Recommended Posts

Hello, i saw this Keichousaurus from Gouizhou, China, on auction today and think theres something wrong about it. The bones look like If they're carved from one piece, the toes look paint. But im not sure If its a complete fake. Because many of the structures seem to be real, but badly preserved. Also, i dont know how common it was in the 1980/90's to fake Keichous. Thats when it was found.

So what do you think about it, is it a real and bad preserved one, a 50/50, or a complete fake ?

Thanks for any advise !

(The seller didnt made that many close up pictures from different angles, sadly)

It doesn´t really matter, "what" it is. Its such a poor specimen, just stay away.

Even if its all real (would need better pictures to tell) its very poorly prepped based on the pictures.  Looks like a good old grinder was taken to it.  It may be worth looking for an unprepped one and having a professional prep it for you.

I agree that this does not look good at all.

It's a juvenile, genuine but very badly prepped.  Even if it's free, I won't take it.
