New Members Sara Vietta Posted April 11 New Members Share Posted April 11 I found this vertebra fossil in North Carolina. I understand that vertebrae can be hard to identify, but if anyone can help me out, I greatly appreciate it! Sara
ted coulianos
Fossil whale vertebra is about all you can say; tough to pin down to genus or species; general locality info would be good as would info on geologic formation. If it was found near the coast , could be either Miocene or Pliocene in age; Fossil Identification for North Carolina and Aurora - Pliocene and Miocene fossils. (fossilguy.com) Fossil Vertebrate Identification for Aurora, North Carolina: Fossilguy.com perhaps other members can be more helpful.
