SE Texas - Femur from?

@Randyw @ClearLake Thank you both. Black bear seems to be the best fit so far. I'm happy about that. I don't know if we've had tremarctos here in Texas in the past.

Here are 2 femurs. The first one has been identified as Puma concolor. The best ID I’ve come up with for the second, larger one, is bear.

@garyc That's seems like a pretty big bear. I believe Lorne Ledger has found Arctodus Pristinus on the Brazos... wonder if that is in the size range if it were complete? Not only that... it seems more robust than my bone. Your last photograph has more going on whereas mine is pretty flat in the space lower right of femur head. Don't think it's so worn as to be that flat there on mine.

I wonder if it's different for different bears?
