New Members manzana Posted April 30 New Members Share Posted April 30 While working on dirt, I came across thousands of rocks that had very similar shape, at fist it seemed like a normal work site, but further looking in to them I realized that they were fossils. Don't know how old they are don't know what animal it is, so I need some help to identify them and see if they are worth anything if so who buys them
ClearLake
Where were these found? In Texas? They look like some of our Cretaceous oyster-ish bivalves. If so, they would be 66-100 million years old. If you tell us a state and county, we might be able to figure out the formation and a more precise age. Very nice looking!

A couple more views of that singular one you posted first and we might be able to take a stab at a species. Probably a Texigryphea of some sort.
Tidgy's Dad
Yes, a bivalve, I would also guess at Texigryphaea, and a coquina as well. Oh, and monetary valuations are forbidden as per the forum rules, I'm afraid. Edited April 30 by Tidgy's Dad Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

Fossildude19
As a piece of history, they are collectable. Worth holding onto to teach kids something. These likely date back to the age of the dinosaurs. So, over 65 million years old. I'd find that interesting as a kid. Or, you can donate them to a local school, or library. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Well, that is really a question for you. haha I have boxes of them, but I like to collect fossils. If you like to look at fossils, I would take them home. If you want to make some money, I would keep working at your job and leave them there. Edited April 30 by ClearLake 1

As mentioned, it will really not make you rich..., but perhaps a little bit more happy
