New Members SpeedOof Posted May 9 New Members Share Posted May 9 (edited) Found this at a spot along the Blanco river in Texas that is decent for finding Rams horn fossils. I am not very knowledgeable of fossils and rocks in general, any help will be appreciated Edited May 9 by SpeedOof pics
Ludwigia
Yes, this does have the outer appearance of a tooth or claw, but it looks to me to be an interestingly shaped rock, since the texture doesn't fit with either. 2 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Rockwood
A good look at the texture is needed because oysters can be this shape if they form in crowded conditions. At this point I tend to lean towards that identification. It's by no means certain though.

Brandy Cole
I might also consider the point of an antler tine. 1

The cavity doesn't reach this far towards the tip.
Brandy Cole
It looks to me like it's mostly solid with broken or eroded portions.
