Mark Kmiecik Posted May 10 Share Posted May 10 It's not an egg simply because eggs don't display any layering. Also, eggshell has pores through which oxygen and waste gases are transferred between the embryo in the egg and the outside environment. These can be clearly seen on a chicken egg with 20x magnification, and are normally well preserved on fossilized eggshells. Get a jewellers' loupe and check one out. 1 Mark.
