Please help me ID this thing!!!

Please help me identify this fossil, found in Alberta, Canada. The cross section/side view of this fossil is particularly interesting.

 

Could it be bone? Doesn’t look quite right to me…

 

Perhaps a side view of a giant crinoid (or similar) stem? 
 

Or maybe large plate scales like those of a sturgeon??

 

Help!

Sorry. I don't see a fossil of any kind here.

Looks like 2 different types of rock that somehow became attached to each other. The brown one looks cracked through tectonics and then "repaired" with quarz intrusions. Maybe sandstone. The other one looks like some kind of metamorphic shale.

Looks like a septarian structure not related to concretion formation. It's very interesting, but I think it's strictly geological in origin.
