Found this along the Hudson River near Albany, NY. I split the rock to see what was inside and it. An ID on any of the fossils would be appreciated!

Sedimentary structures, perhaps. No fossils.

Minerals often expand as a result of weathering. I think the fracturing seen here may be related to that process.
