New Members Jasmine Posted May 27 New Members Share Posted May 27 (edited) This was found in a dry river bed at the time. I was told a multitude of things it could possibly be. Something from the inside of a saguaro or a kind of rock that forms and releases this stone. However I want to know as it's very interesting, any pointers are appreciated. Fossildude19
This looks like a chert or agate pebble, to me. Not seeing any kind of recognizable fossil, though. 1 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." ynot
I would go with a small agate nodule. Where was it found?

Mark Kmiecik
My first thought was agate nodule as well. You can see some banding in the last photo. Edited May 27 by Mark Kmiecik fix typo Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
patelinho7
Looks like Arizona fire agate… which is not a very precise ID, more of a generalization classifying any agates that have a reddish/orange appearance from AZ. Some of them can look quite fiery and spectacular, though
