Any signs of repairs on this Spinosaurus tooth ?

Hello, I saw this Spinosaurus tooth on auction today and wondered If there are any signs of repairs on it that might end my decision buying it, if I wont find anything at the Hamburg fossil and mineral convention on Saturday. I quite like this tooth, its big, chunky, got some nice colours, and I love the overall look of it. Its not perfect, there are some small, not glued or repaired cracks that appear to have formed during the fossil forming procces.

Sice : 11,2 cm

Formation : Kemkem beds, morocco

I am not sure if this is a glued crack, but other than that if you like the tooth and the price is right for me I don't see any reason to not buy it.

Repaired for sure. Covered a bit up with matrix/glue. But other than that commercial quality fine tooth

Im pretty much with others.

Im not seeing anything wrong with top crown part, but Im not certain with bottom part, atleast some work has been done.

Tooth is o.k., repaired but not faked. Good Spino

Tooth is okey , it has a repaired crack ,and some matrix covering the root. But both crown and tooth are real.

You could debate cleaning it up a little with acetone, removing the glued sand/matrix around it.

But overall a fair and good tooth.

It ends today, I'll try to get it !

All the "big and chunky" Spino teeth at the convention I went to were heaaaaaaavily restored, Frankenstein-teeth, or completly fake.

It was even questionable if they really belonged to Spino's, as most of them looked more like the teeth of the still undescribed morrocan species : "Bananosaurus fakensis" , only found in the moroccan fossil workshops :heartylaugh:

This big tooth is the best one I saw in the last weeks, only one glued crack, that might be prepareble with a bit of acetone to let it look better,

Yea !

This is sadly true.

Big good ones are out there, but under a rock since bad ones saturate the market.

Perhaps there will be another one in a future.
