Hello everyone! I am looking for help with a possible id on these bones I have found recently in the Pittsburgh area of Pa. They were all found in a creek bed with a lot of exposed rock after the amount of rain we got in the spring. All bones were found in a 20 foot square radius. Thank you for any help! I did a hot pin test, and it did not burn through at all..

You need to do a Flame test.
A heated pin will not go through bone. That is a test for amber.

Hold an open flame to the bone, and see if it burns, or gives off a smell of burnt hair. This tests to see if there is still collagen present - which would indicate modern bone.

Even if there is no collagen present, it could still be historic bones, of a horse or cow. A few hundred years old might not have any collagen present.

I think these are probably the bones/teeth of a domestic cow.
