I found this in Western Kentucky in Lyon County and it was ID'd as petrified wood. Comments

Can we see the broken edges?

 

To be classified as "Petrified wood" , minerals need to replace all of the cells in the wood, retaining the structure of wood, and growth rings should show.

This looks like carbonized/coalified plant material, to me, from the pictures provided.
