This would probably be better in the Is it Real thread.

I'm no eggspert but something seems off about it. Almost looks painted to me. Whether its all real or not I don't know but I do think there is some real eggshell there.

Where is it from? China? I don't think eggs in most cases can be identified to a species.

See link below as reference. Texture seems right at least.

I agree with this, but I'm not an "eggspert", either (or an expert). :)

Topic moved to the appropriate thread.

Sadly, without provenance, identification may be too speculative.

I agree with Kane but it does appear oviraptorid based on the images.

Btw i asked the origin, he said asia but he cant be more specific for some reason. Also said he can get a COA from the Gregory museum paleontologist

COA's are worthless as there is no international body that vets fossils. All one needs is a printer to make a COA.

It does look like some kind of Elongatoolithus Egg - Oviraptor

However there has been a good amouth of restoration done do it, I spot paint, plaster , and egg shell fragments that were added. I even spot tiny air bubbles, witch indicates casts. I would definitely avoid this one .

We do not recommend sellers here on the Forum.

1.  Eggs are more rare than bones and teeth. The vast majority for sale online are composites, casts, or just egg shaped rocks.

2.  The country with the largest supply of eggs (China) also has had an export ban since the 80s and essentially all real eggs from there are smuggled. Don't buy anything from China/Brazil/Etc that you can't afford the FBI repatriating.
