notextinctyet Posted June 14 Share Posted June 14 Unidentified fossil, recently acquired by purchase. Unfortunately, no source information is available. This appears to be fossilized rib bone, heavily weathered. About 9.25" end to end ( about 12.5" measured along the outside curve ). A little over 1.5" at the widest point. Brandy Cole Posted June 15 Share Posted June 15 I agree that it's a rib and that the piece any lacks details that would help narrow down the ID. If you could narrow it down the region where it was found, someone might at least be able to narrow down the most likely suspects, but unfortunately we don't have that here.
