New Members bigbadbaddie Posted June 26 New Members Share Posted June 26 hi i live in calgary and i just wanna know what species or most importantly to me, what time period these fossils belong to. I found these fossils when i was walking along the bow river and decided to take them home. Here are the pictures
minnbuckeye
The first picture shows multiple gastropods embedded within the rock. The fossils resemble possibly 2 types of Hormatoma and a Fusispira found in my region of Minnesota. A quick check of the geology of the Bow river area shows similar geological formations exist. So my thoughts might be correct, though I am far from sure! Nice finds anyways.
Fossildude19
High spired gastropods in the first image. ??? Second image. Last two look like rugose corals, to me. Better, in focus, larger pictures taken outside, in daylight, might help. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Not sure now. They could just be different mineral inclusions. Not really seeing any detail to say otherwise. I don't think they are fossils.
