Hi all!

Found these fossils & teeth on the beach in Northeast Florida over the past year or so and am looking for help identifying them, particularly #1 (looks to be a mouth plate of some kind, but is at least 2x larger than any others I've found), #4 (possible ray denticle?), and #6.

Happy to provide additional close-ups/photos from other angles! :)

Hi! Welcome to the forum! I’ll take a crack at most of these if I can! I’m definitely not a professional, so take my comments with a grain of salt.

1) I’d say you are certainly right, maybe a pufferfish/filefish mouth plate.

2) Hastalis or Lesser Great White (formerly Mako)

3) Hemipristis Serra or Snaggletooth

Unnumbered) Quarter, US currency.

4) Sting Ray denticle I think? Like you mentioned, I’m unsure.

5) Lower positioned Hemipristis Serra

6) I don’t know, but it is certainly something!

7) Stingray barb! Essentially it’s “stinger” on the base of its tail.

Awesome finds!

Thanks so much!

I'm still so stumped on #6! The rest of them I had at least a vague idea what they might be past on past fossils/teeth I've managed to ID, but I have never seen anything like #6 before. Someone suggested it could be a partial cranium of a fish or reptile but when I looked up pics for comparison, it didn't seem to match.

May be a hyperostotic element of fish skull ("tilly bone"), so it wouldn't look normal.
