New Members Sdbridges3 Posted July 2 New Members Share Posted July 2 Normally fossils are rarely found on our Alabama beaches. However, there was a recent beach replenishment project, in January 2024, for much of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Sand/dredge material was pumped from about a mile offshore. From February through June, my wife and I have found three shark teeth, a porcupine/puffer fish mouth plate. a bone fragment and two "somethings." I have uploaded the bone (if I did it correctly) for possible identification. Could it be a fragment of the vertebrae of a small marine mammal? Fossildude19
Not sure there is much diagnostic about this bone chunk.
