Is this really a Rex tooth?

Hello all,

Picked up this tooth recently, which seller claims is a Rex tooth from Hells Creek. It's approximately 2" and serrated up and down both the mesial and distal edges. What is bothering me is the robustness of the tooth. As you can see in the photos, my tyrannosaur Indet tooth from Judith River is more round than this alleged Rex tooth is. Am I missing something? Is there something that absolutely IDs a Rex? If this isn't one, then what could it possibly be?

Apologies if this is a dumb question.

There is variation with tooth shape depending on age of the animal and position in the jaw.

If the tooth is not huge, it might be very difficult to separate it from earlier tyrannosaurids since teeth might be near identical.

Also Nanotyrannus is possible from same locations than t-rex.

I know first question that members will ask. Did seller provide more accurate location?

There's no such thing as too many teeth.

does not look like a 100% rex for me, and not a Nano. Necessary to be sure that it is a hell creek one

Could be a daspleto or gorgo..., or a small rex. Teeth are different depending on the position in the jaw, that makes it sometimes complicate...
