New Members Faraday108 Posted July 6 New Members Share Posted July 6 Good evening all, I've been slowly working through some shale from the Montour Fossil Pit I picked up last month. I may be posting more pictures for help in identifying but there was a particular specimen I opened tonight I was intrigued by but am uncertain what it is. I was hesitant to hold a ruler close to the small, fragile features but the whole region in the photograph is 1 inch by .5 inch.
Mochaccino
These are almost certainly pinnulate arms of a crinoid. Unfortunately there is no calyx so I don't think you'd be able to get a more specific ID.
Thomas1982
Don't see any calyx, but those arms are beautiful!
