Are these teeth natural, restored or fake?

Recommended Posts

Good evening everyone! Looking around the web a bit, I wanted to offer you some photographs of some teeth on auction which will still have very high prices regardless of their quality or otherwise, but which at first sight seem very beautiful to me. Considering that I am a beginner, I wanted to ask you for your opinion on the condition of the three teeth so as to understand if I am starting to glimpse defects or possible repairs.

The first spinosaurus tooth seems very beautiful to me, I don't see any cracks on the crown bu it seems to me that a vertical lateral list of enamel is missing. The root seems strange to me with this gray color (but I'm easily wrong)

The second is a Megalodon tooth, I can't see any repairs on the enamel and the serration is very nice. Is the root widely consumed?

The third and last tooth is again from a Spinosaurus, it seems to be in good condition, I cannot see any human intervention, but I leave the last word to you!

Here it's possible to see what it looks like a vertical part of enamel missing

The angle on this one is a bit unusual.

Could be. Might just be a bad job adding matrix to cover a missing spot.

The item description says it's all natural. Do you think that the root is consumed or restored/composited?

Not all that knowledgable with shark teeth resto.  I do think the way the pics were taken with shadows will make it tough for people to tell.

I am not at all informed about it... :zzzzscratchchin:just seeing other complete roots they usually seem more rounded to me, which is why I assumed that the one in the photo was worn/deteriorated. As for the possible retouching of the root, you are actually right, the photos don't help much, seeing not very homogeneous colors made me doubt, but maybe it doesn't mean anything.

Yes, the root is very worn and appears to me to have some repairs, although it's possible it's just matrix making the texture difference that I think I'm seeing.

Typical Indonesian meg, root is a bit eroded and in some parts root pitting covered with matrix, but seems natural, no red flags.
