We found this egg in Europe, Hungary, near the settlement of Szob, on the shore of the stony and gravelly alluvial mouth of the Danube and Ipoly rivers.  At first it looked like an interesting stone, then the question arose as to whether it might be a petrified egg.  I wonder if it is possible to determine from these pictures whether it is a stone or an egg?  I can't now, but should I take sharper pictures later?

Sharper pictures would be helpful, but I would bet that this is a stone, and not an egg.
I do not see typical eggshell structure/texture on this item.

Sorry, this doesn't look like an egg to me. The texture, especially the nature of the cracks, isn't quite right.
