FF7_Yuffie
A small jaw from Yixian. About 3cm long. Featuring a few partial tooth. I think it is psitacco, but would love a second opinion. What makes me think it may be something is the visible crown on picture 2. Doesnt seem Psitacco. thanks
rocket
interesting one, when I compare with maxillaretooth from our psittacos they look a bit different, but "similar". Might be different species. I add a paper, compare pg. 373, Fig.

I wonder if it could be that
rocket
could you remove the matrix around the tooth? Perhaps it will be a little better to identify There are some Psittacos around there and, yes, Liaoceratops, too. Do not have a Liao, so I cannot compare.. rocket
Oh, I misunderstood, thought you have it When I would buy a fossil like this I would do because I like it. Doesn´t matter if it is Psittaco or Liaoceratops. It is an interesting jaw So, if you like it and the price is reasonable for you but it, prep it and post it again. It is a Dino-jaw, even it is "only Psittaco" as some people will say, it is a real dinopart Thats my suggestion
FF7_Yuffie
cheers, I totally get what you mean. My reasoning here for wanting a more specific ID and check it is something rarer than Psitacco is, here in Taiwan every fossil fair there are half a dozen full Psitaccoso skulls available for just double what this jaw section is. If this is Psitacco, then I would rather potentially buy a skull for twice the price than a small jaw section.
