Mark Kmiecik Posted July 14 Share Posted July 14 It can be anywhere from 390 million to 1 million years old. The only way to know how old it actually is is to know which stratum of rock it came from. We have a very good idea of how old all the strata are since those laid down when the planet was new and it is the association between the fossils and the strata that give us a good approximation of age.
